FORGE Venture Studio

The portfolio of Bharat.

Ideas enter. Companies leave.

FORGE builds the institutions rural India still lacks — one venture per broken seam of the economy. Each takes a thesis to a working company: brand, model, product, capital. Here's what's on the anvil.

The problem

The farmer is a price-taker. Between the farm gate and the mandi, opaque intermediation strips away value, and the grower rarely sees a genuinely competitive bid for the crop they raised.

The build

A village-hosted, open-outcry auction platform that brings verified buyers to the crop — transparent bidding, on-the-spot settlement, and a price history that finally belongs to the farmer.

01
A Hesaathi hosts the auction in the village.
02
Verified buyers bid in the open — in person and digitally.
03
Payment settles at the field; every sale builds a price record.

UGAM

One farmer. One identity.

The problem

A farmer exists across a dozen fragmented records and none that truly travels with them. Without a portable identity, credit, subsidy and services stay permanently out of reach.

The build

A unified farmer digital identity — a 12-digit UGAM ID and an UGAM Score that consolidate land, cultivation, transaction and repayment signals into one trusted, portable profile.

01
Enrol once, through a trusted Hesaathi.
02
The ID links land, cultivation and activity.
03
The Score unlocks credit, insurance and formal markets.

The problem

Rural businesses are cash-starved even when they have plenty to offer one another. Every trade demands rupees that simply aren't in the village.

The build

A multilateral mutual-credit network where members trade on a shared, non-convertible unit — the Setu — clearing obligations against each other instead of against scarce cash.

01
Earn Setu by selling into the network.
02
Spend Setu buying from it.
03
Balances clear multilaterally — cash stays freed up.

Hesa Adda

Where the highways meet, commerce gathers.

The problem

Rural trade has no organised physical waypoint. Aggregation, storage, services and exchange happen ad hoc on the roadside, value leaking at every stop.

The build

Branded commerce hubs at national-highway intersections — the organised roadside marketplace of Bharat, combining aggregation, retail, services and rest under one roof.

01
Hubs sited at national-highway junctions.
02
Aggregation, retail and services in one place.
03
Backhaul logistics turn empty return trips into profit.

The problem

The informal worker and micro-entrepreneur are invisible to formal credit — no history, no score, no access — no matter how reliably they've actually paid their way for years.

The build

A universal credit identity for the informal economy — the Vishwas Score (0–1000) and Rozgar Score — turning a lifetime of informal reliability into formal, portable creditworthiness.

01
Aggregate the signals informality already generates.
02
Compute a transparent, portable score.
03
Give lenders a reason to finally say yes.

Bharat Bourse

A stock exchange for the village.

The problem

Formal capital markets stop far short of the village. Rural enterprise and rural savings have no organised marketplace to meet in — so capital never truly reaches the base.

The build

A village capital market — bringing the mechanisms of formal exchange, listing and investment to the last mile, so enterprise can raise and villagers can own a stake.

01
Local enterprises raise, transparently.
02
Villagers invest and own a share.
03
Formal-market discipline reaches the base.
