Building Hyperlocal commerce

NUKKADनुक्कड़

The corner shop, now on WhatsApp.

A WhatsApp-native hyperlocal commerce layer that turns every neighbourhood kirana into a digital storefront — no app to download, no behaviour to relearn.

The problem

Why it needs to exist

The neighbourhood shop — the nukkad — is where Bharat actually buys. But it's invisible online, cut off from digital demand, discovery and the efficiencies its larger competitors take for granted.

Most 'solutions' ask the shopkeeper and the customer to download an app and change how they behave. In Bharat, that friction is fatal.

The approach

What we're building

NUKKAD meets everyone where they already are: WhatsApp. The shop gets a digital storefront and ordering flow inside the app the whole village already uses every day.

No new app, no learning curve — just the corner shop, now reachable, orderable and discoverable, with the shopkeeper still at the centre.

How it works

From idea to the last mile

01

A shop is onboarded with a WhatsApp-native storefront.

02

Customers browse and order in the chat they already use.

03

The shopkeeper confirms, fulfils and builds a digital record.

04

Repeat orders, discovery and credit follow from the data.

Why it works

The model

Zero friction

No app to download, no behaviour to relearn.

Shopkeeper at the centre

Augmenting the nukkad, not replacing it.

The village's own habit

WhatsApp as the rail.
